"Today, new advances being made with prenatal genetic testing aren't for the benefit of the family, but for the destruction of the pre-born child within the mother. The ability to diagnose diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis, Down Syndrome, and others while the child is still in the womb means a greater chance a woman will be encouraged and pressured to abort, thus limiting that child’s “burden” on society."

Prenatal Diagnosis and Reproductive Justice
"We also know that children are aborted in droves upon the diagnosis of Down Syndrome, which is a disability, not a disease. In Ireland, up to 50% children diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted. That half of all children diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted is shocking, but it is a relatively low rate when compared to the neighboring United Kingdom where the number is around 90%. In the United States, the percentage of Down Syndrome babies carried to term is in the single digits."

Eugenics & Down Syndrome
Eugenics is a science that deals with the improvement -as by control of human mating- of hereditary qualities of a race or breed (Merriam Webster Dictionary). There is a holocaust of Down Syndrome babies because of the world’s view of perfection. http://keeplifelegal.com/2010/03/07/eugenics-down-syndrome/

World Down Syndrome Day
Beneath the Light of World Down Syndrome Day is a very dark secret that receives very little publicity. Because of advances in prenatal screening, children with Down syndrome are aborted at a rate of 90+ percent once identified in the womb. This silent eugenics movement has made Chloe and all individuals with Down syndrome an endangered species, and they could very well become extinct if people do not wake up.

This Isn't Eugenics ... No, Wait!
"Advances in genetic screening are reducing the incidence of children born with a wide range of genetic anomalies, so much so that several genetically-induced disabilities are close to being completely eliminated. More and more unborn children with genetic anomalies are being detected. The result? A genetic sorting that makes some unborn children second-class citizens fit only for death. What you think of this state of affairs depends on your views about the exceptional nature of human life. However, there are two undeniable certainties. One, unborn children with genetic anomalies are now much more likely to be aborted than their more perfect peers. Two, abortion cures genetic anomalies 100% of the time."

The R Word — It Is Personal
"What I could not see at this time was the mental retardation. MaryEllen was only 14 days old, and all I wanted to think about was my beautiful baby. I just wanted to hold her and enjoy her during this time that she was so little. However, those two ominous words kept popping up in my mind. They were the words that I had to wrestle with the most. At night, when everything was quiet, I would cry myself to sleep. My heart hurt. Those words would roll through my mind. “My daughter has mental retardation,” I said to myself through tears. It hurt."

Considering 'Curing' Down Syndrome with Caution
"The language implies that Down syndrome is a disease, a sickness that is currently incurable. But Down syndrome is the presence, from conception, of an extra 21st chromosome in every cell of a human body. It reduces Down syndrome to a medical condition rather than understanding people with Down syndrome as whole—emotional, physical, social, spiritual—persons. People with Down syndrome don't need to be cured. They do need to be treated as the complete human beings they are."

Down Syndrome, Search and Destroy
"The screening of unborn babies for Down syndrome with a new national screening programme is further manifestation of a culture of death. It is a search and destroy programme that has as its sole objective the termination of the lives of unborn children. An abortion is the ultimate discrimination against those with a disability. This is eugenics which proclaims that only the perfect have a right to be born. The screening programme is a further major step on the slippery slope."

Down Syndrome and Evidence of the Divine
"To identify what it is about these special people that allows us to glimpse the divine isn't really difficult. It's something most of us pursue and long for - even if only subconsciously. It's the purity and innocence they have within them. I suppose I could credit that small, extra chromosome #21 for this. That's why I call it the "divine chromosome".

Interesting Perspective on Disabilities Eugenics
"An obstetrician told me excitedly about a new blood test that will allow pregnant women to discover if the child they are carrying has Down syndrome. The good news, he told me, is that we will no longer have to worry about "unfortunate births."

Screening for Down syndrome Condemned As Eugenics
"This programme will simply result in babies with Down's syndrome being targeted with abortion in an attempt to weed out these people from our society." He said the proposal sends a message to disabled people that they are not as welcome in New Zealand as people without disabilities. The screening method is not healthcare, rather it is "unjust eugenics" and has no place in New Zealand."

Three babies aborted every day due to Down's syndrome
An increasing number of pregnant women are being told their babies have the condition because of a growing number of women putting off having children until their 30s and 40s and improvements in screening, doctors say. And around nine in ten women who are told they are going to have a baby with the problem opt for a termination.

Conscience, Courage, and Children With Down Syndrome
The real choice in accepting or rejecting a child with special needs is never between some imaginary perfection or imperfection. The real choice is between love and unlove, between courage and cowardice, between trust and fear. And that’s the choice we face as a society in deciding which human lives we will treat as valuable, and which we will not.

Down's syndrome abortions 'are double official level' as doctors spare women's feelings
Twice as many unborn babies are being aborted because they have Down's syndrome as official figures disclose, an independent body revealed yesterday. Doctors are trying to spare women's feelings at aborting a disabled child by failing to classify the termination as Down's, it was claimed. Instead, they are recorded as 'social' abortions:
